Sign up for our two-day intensive course and unlock cutting techniques that will enhance your skills and boost your confidence. In this hands-on workshop, we'll guide you through every stage of two complete foundational haircuts: a long layered cut and a layered bob — from the initial consultation to the finished result. You’ll learn and build on the core principles of our unique cutting system: a practical, logical, and precise method shaped by years of real-world salon experience that focuses on efficient confident decision making.

By the end of the course, you’ll have completed two full looks on mannequins from start to finish and gained the confidence and expertise to deliver consistent results on the salon floor, leaving your clients delighted and eager to return.

With an 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio, you’ll receive the personalised guidance you need to thrive.

Note that we also offer a demo-only ticket for this course – available for either of the days and allow you to observe the morning demo without participating in the afternoon practical session.

Course Schedule

Day 1: Long Layered Look
Demo & Workshop

On day one we concentrate on the long layered look. In the morning we have a full demo, start to end, then the afternoon is an interactive educator led workshop.

9:30am – Introduction
Intro to the teacher and fellow students. Brief outline of the day’s events.

9:45am Analysis
Real-world-like introduction to the haircut, like a client coming into the salon.

10:15am Demo
Full cut demonstration on mannequin from start to finish, supported by slideshow.

1pm Lunch

2pm Interactive Practical Session
We cut the full haircut on mannequins in steps lead by the educator, applying the knowledge learnt in the morning session.

5:30pm End of day

Day 2: Layered Bob
Demo & Workshop

On day two we focus on the classic layered bob. In the morning we have a full demo once again, start to end, then the afternoon we have an interactive educator led workshop.

Our Dedicated Central London Hair Academy

Our academy is a beautiful creative space located in Holborn/Covent Garden in central London. The space is on the 4th floor of a listed Georgian Townhouse and boasts great light, original features and high ceilings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the student teacher ratio?

Most of our courses, with the exception of the "Get Inspired" taster course, run with a strict ratio of eight students to one teacher. Our extremely low student teacher ratio means that you receive personalised feedback and guidance specific to you and your needs, enabling you to achieve your best and gain the very most from your time with us.

What tools do I need to bring with me?

For cutting courses you would need to bring: scissors, a cutting comb, sectioning clips, a hairdryer with a nozzle, a diffuser, straightening irons, a vess brush, a paddle brush, water spray, a neck brush

For the colour courses: a pin tail comb, a tinting comb, waterspray, avess brush & a paddle brush

For cutting and colour courses: scissors, cutting comb, cutting comb, pin tail comb, tinting comb, vess brush, paddle brush, neck brush, hairdryer, straightening irons, diffuser, water spray & sectioning clips

We will also send you an email before your course confirming all the required tools for your course.

Where is the academy?

Our Academy is located in the heart of the West-End on the 4th floor of stunning central London hair salon (and sister compnay) – Ena. The address is 5 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5DG map. The nearest London Underground stations are Holborn (3 minute walk) & Covent Garden (6 minute walk).

Who will be the teacher on the course?

One of our highly experienced educators will be teaching you. As our educators frequently travel for international courses, shows, and seminars, we do not assign a fixed educator to each course. Your instructor will be confirmed close to the course date.

Are mannequins provided?

Yes, mannequins are provided and covered in the price of the course. We use Allilon real hair mannequins on all our academy courses.
